Rainbow is a comedian and ham. He loves to perform and have everyone looking his way. He is an extremely high energy parrot.
He enjoys acting out when he is supposed to be standing by, quietly waiting for his turn in a show. His goal is to steal the audience’s attention from the other bird who is supposed to performing.

Bottom line, Rainbow just wants to have fun and party all the time.
He came to us at 2˝ years old. Prior to that, he’d been in several homes. His original owner purchased him without fully considering the commitment that this type of relationship would require. She later found out that he was more work than she could handle and returned him to the store that he came from..
Just like a foster child who had been in the system too long, Rainbow was learning to play all of the “bad parrot” games. He needed knowledgeable, caring parent figures and a constructive outlet for his energy.

*Hybrids are a combination of two different species. In this case, one parent is a Blue & Gold while the other is a Scarlet. Hybrids do occur in the wild, however, they are rare and normally regarded by both wild species as a “freak”. As a result they are, normally, unsuccessful in obtaining a mate; thereby maintaining the integrity of the species.
